Took a little break from Figures because I wanted to tackle heads. Heads are tough and keeping myself motivated is tough as well. They both seem to be related problems, all mental and up to me, so I will tackle the problems harder.

Poses from Squiggly Lines. Considering doing these 40 each a day, so 20 when I start drawing and 20 before bed. Also, >_> have any of you heard of Goose House? I really feel like I want to do a plug on Goose House.I found them from their song ending Silver Spoon (an awesome anime btw). And today I just learned that their Youtube page has over 100 covers by them, all acoustic and all amazing. Here is a Pokemon cover that I can’t stop listening to: Pokemon Master Ash This group is a pure joy to listen to and I really wanted to share that. They also have a Wind Rises cover. <3Edit: Every time I go to one of their video’s Chrome asks if I’d like to translate the page, I reply “Nope!”

So I randomly started drawing figures from my imagination one day and now I’m still doing it. This has been such a confidence boost.

Some of what I’ve been doing. Moved over to Vilppu because I felt stuck on the Bridgman concepts. Also I doodled some FLCL.

When poses look at eachother.

Playing around.

Happy Birthday me! For a birthday present to myself I felt like tackling the main portfolio requirement for CCS in Vermont. Not that this is the cartooning school I would want to go to if I had money, just a more rounded portfolio expectation so I used it as a model.

A minimum two-page comic story starring yourself, a snowman, a robot, and a piece of fruit… ha I put a lot of work into this, but never finished it to the last page. That is ok though. I learned a lot, and had way too much fun and frustration go into two weeks of writing and drawing.

The story is was basically about a lonely old robot designer who lacked any creativity what-so-ever, all his robots were lame and humble household objects made into robots. Everything is completely uncreative except for his freezer which animates miniature snowman to be guided by an equally miniature robot in a quest to make fruit salads.

And then myself in the comic would actually be the freezer labeled “Kyle 22” which says “Thank you, have a fantastic day!” every time the old designer takes out a fruit salad. I say that line WAY TOO much at work (a gas station) and I often feel people see me saying it robotic - when in reality I say it quite earnestly as why I say “fantastic!” with a smile.

I’m really content with what I have drawn and written and probably will not do anything else with this comic and these characters as I really want to move on to new portfolio projects.
